I consider myself a tech enthusiast. I enjoy learning about the latest gadgetry, developer tools, NASA/JPL space imagery and statistical mathmatics/algorithms intrigue me. I began my IT adventure as a systems administrator which kick-started my interest in web design which then lead to UI/UX design.

As a systems administrator it was my responsility to ensure the proper access, site reliability, data integrity, design and overall functionality for company wide SharePoint sites (There were over 200+ of these and approximately 8k users).

Designing SharePoint sites was fun for me. It allowed me to "dip my toes in" if you will. With a pre-built framework I was able to start with small elements (ie: buttons, banners, page themes) without risking "breaking" a site. Not long after this I was asked to lead a new company wide intranet project. With this I was responsible for company wide content management & creation, page designs with collaboration from designated deparment leaders, ensuring ease of use for the user interface and overall user experience.

Later I applied for and accepted a new role as a Sr. UI/UX designer. This was a whole new world for me. Having access to so many different creation & design tools was exciting. Diving into user research and user testing allowed me to get a better grasp on how and what end users really like/need to see to get the most out of their experience. I was also able to learn more about design trends and successful implementation within the confines of the company "theme"/"pallette".
